The Communist Party of Great Britain Printed Ephemera Collection is an artificial collection, collected and assembled by the Tamiment Library over the course of several decades. The collection consists largely of pamphlets put out by the Party, ranging in date from the 1920s-1980s. Also included are printed materials from local branches and districts as well as the youth wing of the Party, known as the Young Communist League.

The Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB) was founded in 1920. The Party was based upon the philosophy of Karl Marx (1818-1883) and was inspired by the Russian Revolution of November 1917. The Communists believed that before long revolution would over throw Capitalism and end the exploitation of the working class.
